The True Yogi

In this age of consumerism and commercialism kirtan has become performance, teachings and techniques are marketed as product and devotees are seen as customers. Now everything is done on stage and for a price. With self-justifi cation that they are doing good, many disgrace their lineages and confuse and misguide the public. The true yogi or sadhu, through his or her traditional life of renunciation and austerity, has the power to bless devotees, the integrity to guide the faithful and the authority to pass on the esoteric teachings of the lineage to a sincere disciple.
