Mountains

Tagore wrote that in a mountain “stillness surges up to explore its own height.“ Perhaps those of us who are lovers of mountains feel that by our ascension to a summit we can explore that height of stillness for ourselves. Or perhaps it is better to say that by our ascension, stillness can explore its own depth within us. Either way, the stillness within and the stillness without is always present, even when we stand in the valley.
